Libby by OverDrive is the library's most-used eBook and Audiobook service. You can read or listen to books through the Libby App.  In 2022, the OverDrive app will no longer be available.  Not to worry you can still access your ebooks and holds by downloading and logging into the Libby app.  You can start using the Libby app right now - find it in your app store.

Local History

The first phase of the newspaper digitization project is now complete. Many thanks to the Friends of the Library, Donna Field, the 2012 Homecoming Committee, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport (OLCF Grant), Archives of Ontario, and Our Digital World for making this project possible.

West Grey Library Newspapers is where our new Birth, Marriage, Death (BMD) Index is located as well as the following newspapers.

Can't find a book?

How Inter-Library Loan Works

  • Fill out an Inter-Library Loan Request Form at the Circulation Desk.
  • It could take up to four weeks or longer for your material to arrive through Canada Post.
  • When it arrives, you will be contacted and the book will be held for you at the desk for up to 2 weeks.
  • The material is due 3 weeks from the date of check out and, sorry, there are no renewals.

Never Miss Out on a Good Book!

  • Inter-Library Loans is a great service offered by libraries.
  • Enables smaller libraries to have access to even more books.
  • Books must have been published at least a year ago for us to request it for you.

The following items cannot be requested through Interlibrary loan;

  • New books published in the last 12 months
  • DVDs, Blue Rays or Video Games
  • Audio books
  • Book club set
  • Microfilm/fiche
  • Magazines

C-Pen Reader Features

C-Pen Reader

The C-Pen Reader is a portable, text-to-speech scanning device for reading support, free with your library membership!

Features Include:

  • Scans and reads text out loud.
  • Recognizes English, French, and Spanish.
  • Looks up and reads definitions of words.
  • Uses built-in speakers or headphones

Cognitive Wellness Kits have puzzles, games, activities and books to engage and support those with mild to moderate dementia and their care partners.

FREE pass to Ontario Parks are available for a one week loan period and provide complimentary day-use access for one vehicle and its occupants.

Place a hold using your WGPL card. There are more than 100 provincial parks to choose from.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit provides PLAY Kits for individuals and families to get out and get active.

The Play Kit is a mesh bag filled with light sports equipment and other items designed to get kids active while having fun.

FREE with your WGPL card.

We have snowshoes- 3 Adult and 2 Child.
You can place a hold on the snowshoes on our library catalog.
 
Please place a hold on the size that suits you best.

  1 pair: 25" (120-180 lbs)
  1 pair: 27" (160-235 lbs)
  1 pair: 36" (210-265 lbs).

The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters and sponsored by Ontario Power Generation are happy to provide WGPL patrons with FREE access to fishing rods and tackle. Place a hold on your fishing rod, reel and tackle box with your WGPL card through our catalogue.

Please Note: Fishing rods and Tackle can not be dropped in the drop box.

Tinker Box Kits

Each kit has a different craft or activity that changes often.  All supplies are included.

Choose between LEGO, LittleBits (electric circuit kits), Makedo (cardboard construction kit) and card games.

Follow the instructions or create your own unique craft.  Send us a photo of your creation for us to share on social media.  Email us at kids@westgreylibrary.com.
